DAY BY DAY PROGRAM
Day 1: Gateway to Coastal Splendor
Arrive at Tivat, Dubrovnik, or Podgorica airport, where your Montenegrin adventure begins. Choose to enhance your journey with an optional transfer to the charming town of Kotor, setting the stage for the coastal splendor that awaits.
Day 2: Vrmac Vistas - Hiking to Sveti Ilija from Kotor
Enter on an exhilarating hike as you ascend Mount Vrmac, a natural barrier between the innermost and outer parts of the Bay.
The trail begins in Kotor, winding its way in a zig-zag path to the fortress Vrmac. Follow the mountain ridge to reach the pinnacle, Sveti Ilija (765 m), enjoying breathtaking panoramas along the way. The descent unveils an old shepherd’s trail.
Day 3: Northern Heights and Seaside Charm - Orahovac to Perast Excursion
Take another top-tier tour as you explore the northern side of the bay, commencing in Orahovac village and leading to the ruins of the Vranovo Brdo fortress. Revel in an absolutely breathtaking view from this historical vantage point before descending along another military path to the charming townlet of Perast.
Here, you can optionally take a boat ride to visit the renowned island with the church Gospa od Skrpjela (Our Lady of the Rock). Conclude your day with a scenic boat ride back to Tivat, followed by a delightful dinner in the enchanting Old Town of Kotor, roaring out the Mediterranean charm.
Day 4: Ladder of Kotor - Cetinje Heritage and Budva's Beach Charms
Explore the footsteps of the old trade route known as the ‘ladder of Kotor’, once a trade path for transporting from the Port of Kotor to inner Montenegro, everything up to billiard tables even! Follow this historic horse trail with more than 70 zig-zags, ascending to the Krstac pass, where countless magnificent views of the entire bay unfold.
Upon reaching the pass at 900 m, indulge in tasting local Njegusi ham and cheese, products with a national trademark of Montenegro, recognised as traditional. Following this, a transfer takes you to the Old Royal Capital of Cetinje, where 19th-century power structures stand in stark contrast to the simplicity of local architecture.
Later, venture to Budva, adorned with a romantic Old Town and inviting nearby beaches for a refreshing swim.
Day 5: Olive Grove Odyssey - Bar's Old Charm
Jump on a panoramic transfer along the stunning Montenegrin coast, leading you to Bar. Begin your walk in the scenic olive orchards of Old Bar, continuing towards an abandoned village overlooking the Bay of Bar.
Seize the opportunity to explore the ruins of Old Bar, where the oriental spirit of this region comes to life. Conclude the day with a return to Budva, taking the echoes of history and the beauty of diversity in the Montenegrin coastal landscape.
Day 6: Riviera Panoramas - Budva to Sveti Stefan Descent
Take a short transfer (30 min) to the starting point above Budva. Begin a delightful panorama walk above the Riviera of Budva, making a refreshing stop at the church of Ogradnica. Descend to St Stefan, the iconic hotel-island, before returning to Budva.
Day 7: Lakeside Serenity - Godinje Loop in Lake Skadar National Park
Don’t miss the chance to explore another unique landscape in Montenegro – Lake Skadar National Park. Enjoy a pleasant and scenic loop walk to the ancient village of Godinje, renowned for producing the best wines in Montenegro.
Reward yourself with a glass of ‘Vranac’ wine and fish from the lake before returning to Budva.
Day 8: Farewell or Extended Stay
Conclude your Montenegrin adventure with optional transfers to the airports in Podgorica, Tivat or Dubrovnik. Alternatively, choose to extend your stay and savour more of the Montenegrin charm before bidding farewell to this captivating region.
