This diverse tour starting from the old royal capital of Cetinje will lead you from the tranquil beauty of Lake Skadar via picturesque villages and panoramic roads, to the inviting beaches and historical towns of the Bay of Kotor. A medium challenging route, providing a feast for the senses and eyes and plenty of opportunity to experience the hospitality of the friendly Montenegrin people.

Day 1: Arrival – Cetinje, the former Royal Capital of Montenegro

Individual arrival to Montenegro at one of the following airports: Dubrovnik, Tivat, Podgorica. An optional airport transfer to the first accommodation in Cetinje is available to you upon request. You will then meet with a representative of our agency, who will give you an introduction to the tour, tour documents will be handed out and rental bike fittings will take place.

 

Day 2: Through the Heart of Montenegro (39 km/↗550 m, ↘ 1200 m)

Today’s tour takes you to the biggest lake of the Balkan peninsula, Lake Skadar. You follow the old road that connects Cetinje with Rijeka Crnojevića. You continue to ride along the lake until you reach Virpazar. You will be rewarded with wonderful panoramic views of the lake. Virpazar is the center of the most famous wine region of Montenegro, where the renowned Vranac wine is produced.

 

Day 3: Along the Old Railway Line from Lake Skadar to the Adriatic Sea (30 km/↗850 m, ↘ 810 m)

Today, you will follow this former railway track that takes you, in a comfortable ascent, to the pass.  From there you enjoy a thrilling downhill ride, with a great view of the Adriatic Sea. You’ll end today’s tour by riding through old olive groves to Stari Bar.

Day 4: Above the Adriatic and through ancient olive groves towards Ulcinj (30 km/↗550 m, ↘ 250 m)

Along the road you’ll see groves of olive trees, some over 2,000 years old. On a secondary road above the Adriatic. You’ll be treated with beautiful views riding through a vast valley to the main road Ulcinj Montenegro’s most southern town with a distinctive oriental touch.

 

Day 5: Skadar Lake, panorama views, chestnut groves (64 km/↗960 m, ↘ 1240 m)

A wonderful, but challenging panoramic tour with three major awaits you today. You can count on passing through vineyards, villages, and time and time and again, wonderful views of the lake with the dramatic Albanian Alps in the background. In Virpazar you will be picked up and transferred to Lovćen National Park.

 

Day 6: Cycle from from Lovćen National Park to the Bay of Kotor (42 km/+200m/-1400m)

Today’s tour takes you directly from the mountains to the sea along the famous Austro-Hungarian serpentine road, with the most beautiful panoramic views in the Bay of Kotor. Along the road there will be several great spots to stop for photos. You finish your tour directly in front of the old town of Kotor, i.e. in front of your accommodation. Enjoy the Mediterranean atmosphere in the center of Kotor.

Day 7: The highlights of the Bay of Kotor (47 km/↗↘ 300 m )

At the end of your bike trip you can explore the picturesque sights in the Bay of Kotor. You won’t  miss the baroque sailor’s town of Perast with its two church islands but there is much more to see! Once again, you can count on a beautiful route, directly along the sea.

Day 8: Return home

The services end after breakfast.  Optional transfer to airport.
